Dr. Oaks follows the principles of the Ideal Medical Practices Organization. This goes beyond NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home to focus on the relationship between the doctor and the patient. Our goal is to give you the tools to help you manage your own health. We treat all ages and provide routine preventive care including pap smears.
Our practice requests a 24 hour notice from a patient to cancel an appointment. We reserve the right to refuse a patient our services with two consecutive no shows. A no show is defined as an appointment missed without a courtesy phone call or email from the patient 24 hours prior to their exclusively reserved appointment time. Patients are subject to a $25.00 fee for no shows.
No Show Policy:If a patient fails to show-up for their appointment, a member of the staff will call them to reschedule and inform them of the $25 charge added to their account. If the patient does not answer, the staff member will leave a message requesting that the patient call our office or schedule an appointment online. If after 48 hours no action has been made to reschedule the missed appointment, a member of the staff will call again and attempt to reschedule. If we are still unable to reach the patient, the patient̢۪s complexity will be changed to non-compliant.
Dr. Oaks and Ashley Laughlin CNP give you enough refills to last until a follow-up appointment is required. Please notify us via MyMedWall or by calling the office BEFORE you run out of your medicine. We will schedule your follow-up and send enough of your medication to your pharmacy to last until your appointment if necessary.
Patients are seen by Dr. Kristin Oaks by appointments and time is blocked for acute or urgent same day requests. Patients can also be seen by the nurse for blood pressure checks, urine checks and blood draws. We offer extended hours Tuesday mornings as well as Thursday evenings for routine and urgent needs. The hours are posted in the office, on our phone message when patient calls and on our website. We also offer E-visits for our established patients as a convenience for specific problems, both new and existing, which do not, in the doctor's opinion, necessarily require the patient's physical presence.
